Company of Heroes goes Free to Play? In celebration of 4 years of being one of the more dominate & genera redefining real time Strategy games for the PC. Relic Entertainment is looking to bring its juggernaut to the masses by turning it into a free to play title later this year and bringing it to the US. I'll let that news sit in for a second while you catch your wind. Already in beta over seas Company of Heroes stands as the next great franchise to make the cross over to a free2play framework and tap into the success of the micro transactional world. Similar to other Free2play games the title will feature a reworked online mode with persistent stat tracking, social network support, & the full single player campaign. It remains a mystery what will happen to all the retail copies of the game that are out but no doubt this is big news. I'll keep you posted as more news arises. |
